I am just turned off by a company that is all about making money.

I know that kinda sounds werid coming from me cause I run a buisness, but I don't charge my members for every little thing and I do my best to make them happy.

DDO/Turbine has become really bad about making their game "pay to win" which has turned me off greatly from wanting to play it as much as I use to.

I feel a buiness should be ran like a buisness but treat your customers with respect and don't try to take advantage of them.

My 2 cents :)

That's ideal, of course, but if a company doesn't make a profit, they can't innovate, expand, invest/manage risk, create jobs, etc. Profits aren't evil. In fact, without them, economies fail.

The best ideas (in gaming as well) come from the companies that can hire the best talent, invest in new and innovative ideas, and afford the publishing and advertising necessary to spread the product around.

While "customer first" is a motto, there is NO COMPANY out there that keeps it's doors open without a mind on money.

You may not charge for every thing you do, but neither does WotC. Lots of free, downloadable content on their website; replay value from 1-time purchases, etc. Besides, they aren't ripping anyone off if people buy their stuff. People have to voluntarily turn their money over, after all.

I'm not trying to argue with you, but there's a lot of this going around (in the US in particular) where the word "profit" has become evil thanks to the liberal media. Without it, we become another 3rd world country in a hurry. And we are on our way there now; just saying...

Oh, and nice pics on the latest update, babe! :)

You kinda missed my whole point by a long shot.

Of course profit is essential to every business in order to work and last. Kinda "duh!" ya know.

What I said was that I don't like businesses that ONLY CARE about profits and not their customers. Big difference there all around.

WotC has bastardized D&D. Rolling out edition after edition with the occasional little bone to make hardcore WotC believers satisifed. There is NO REASON to create an edition of the game only to release a new edition in no time. What's wrong with V3? You have to get 3.5. No, wait - now you need 4.0, no wait again: 5.0 is now out. Etc. And seriously - 3 DM GUIDES??!!!!
